Award Cycle Information & Key Dates

Please note the following key dates:

National

Spring - Canadian Local Associations hold their respective local Awards Galas. Building inspections take place at this level of competition. Each Canadian Local Association may submit one building in each category to the National competition.

May - Winners at the local level receive an invitation to enter into the BOMA Canada National Awards, along with a registration form, directly from BOMA Canada.

June - Local winners are encouraged to submit their registration form and entry fee as soon as they have made the decision to enter so that they can receive their official Entry Package well in advance of the final entry submission date.

July - Completed online submission package including 11x 14 colour photograph must be received at the BOMA Canada office.

August - Judging at the National level occurs.

August - Competition results and awards for the National winners presented at BOMA Canada’s National Conference and Exposition (BOMEX).

International

January - Winners of the BOMA Canada National Awards (presented at BOMEX) may be eligible to compete in the BOMA International Awards. Only one building in each category will be eligible to enter the International competition. Winners are asked to submit a secondary Registration form acknowledging their intent to enter the International competition.

January - April - Eligible National winners who have acknowledged their intent to continue to International competition with BOMA Canada will have their names forwarded to BOMA International.
Entrants will not be required to access the International entry system as their entry information is already in the system from their National participation. Entrants will however, be required to provide evidence of BOMA BESt certification (to BOMA Canada) if they did not do so previously with their National entry.
Entry fee invoices will be sent directly to the entrants by BOMA International and must be paid by the deadline date (April) in order to have their existing online entry considered for International competition. 

May 2011 - Judging at the international level will occur at the BOMA International offices in Washington, D.C.

June - Competition results/awards for International winners presented at BOMA International’s Annual Convention.
